8/22/2006 8:11:05 PM 8/21/06Summer League wrapped up its season last week. There were 4 minor league teams and 2 major league teams in the summer league this year, with over 70 girls participating. We also had some new coaches get involved this season which is always great to see, hopefully we made a good impression on them! Thanks to Mike Ravesi for stepping up and taking on this task once again, if it wasnt for Mike we wouldnt have a summer league program. 8/22/2006 8:10:05 PM 8/22/06 For those of you who have been down to the softball field in the last month, you may have noticed the construction going on where the tennis courts and playground used to be. This is going to be a new ramp leading down into the tennis courts which before next season will be turned into additional parking space for us! This is long overdue and much needed as we all know. This will allow us to play host to our own tournaments next season which will bring in more revenue for our program and also to spread the word that Marlboro Girls softball is thriving!! Hats off to Assistant League Director Paul Flynn for spearheading this effort. The Marlboro Girls Softball season wrapped up on Wed June 28th. It was a "Royal Finish" Congratulations to Major League Champions Lampa Construction, coached by Paul Flynn and Minor League Champions, Dr Spada's coached by Mike Ravesi. Both teams had great seasons. April 29, 2006 Marlboro Girls Softball opened up the season under blue skies on Saturday April 29th. The day started with pictures in the morning and a parade at noon with a police and fire truck escort. The major and minor league champions of last season were announced, followed by special guests, the members of the Marlboro High School Varisty softball team, and Mayor Nancy Stevens. The senior captains of the softball team Michelle O’Malley, Christina Farese and Caitlin Sullivan, and Mayor Stevens threw out the first pitches to kick off the season. Thank you to everyone who made the day a success. |
